day 17

I am sittting in the lounge, waiting to go on my last trip. We will be walking through one of those roped-off mazes that is used to direct a line toward a counter. These can be hard for dogs because the dogs want to go under the ropes or bars instead of following them like guidelines.

This morning, we walked through metal detectors at the courthouse and practiced windy hallways with little flights of stairs. Kathie is not only good at showing me where stairs are by stopping at them, but she also takes big steps one at a time to give me time to handle them. This is not necessary on all flights–my legs are short, so she has to learn what to do in each situation. She is learning quickly.

We had a meeting before lunch with a representative from a pet insurance company. The information is very useful for me, and I look forward to receiving a quote.
