I joined the ranks of the computer user out of necessity: I needed a way to communicate with sighted people when I went to college in 1990. That need placed me in a unique situation: I needed accessibility for myself; and I needed to understand the ways that sighted people use the computer. I had to walk with my feet in two worlds
This characteristic has marked my use of technology since then; and I sometimes moved reluctantly into new realms (e.g. the IPhone). Once I moved, I often found myself delving deeply in.
